Workshop hire and bench booking
Pay as you Go metal workshop hire
The Weld Space is proud to be able to operate an open access metal workshop space which allows past course attendees to come and practise welding skills in order to create, make and fabricate your own projects.
Once you have completed one of our courses which introduce you to the machinery and welders. You will qualify for our bench hire scheme and then be able to book a bench for half a day, day pass or multi day pass (if you require it). This will allow you to complete your own projects without the expense of buying workshop machinery.
During your hire period our main tutor Richard Evans will be around acting as technician to support the The Weld Space community with queries, trouble shoot machinery issues and covering workshop safety.
We are here to provide you with the Tools, Equipment and Space to complete your DIY metalworking projects.
What’s provided
During your bench hire you will have access to a range of workshop machinery, Hand Tools, power tools and safety equipment.
Being part of The Weld Space Community will mean you will only be able to use the machinery you have had experience with. So if you’ve only use the TIG welders during your course - you can only use that welder on the day etc.
We are unable to provide consumable items like Angle Grinding discs. These can be purchased on the day or from a local hardware store
You are welcome to bring your own equipment, hand and power tools into the Space.

At The Weld Space, one of our main goals is to make metalwork and fabrication as accessible as possible. That's why we have created Design Packs which include everything you need to get welding and making.
These comprehensive packs are tailored to suit those wanting to build there experience in metalwork under there own steam. They have all the information and materials necessary for you to create own piece for the home or garden.
So whether you have just completed a course or looking for a bit of inspiration to get going with welding and making. Our D-I-Y design packs are for you.

DIY Bench hire cost
Book a Half day
A half day is 4 hours hire. Two sessions are available in the day AM (09:00-13:00) and PM (13:00-17:00)

A full days hire is 8 hours. Available from 09:00 - 17:00 Monday to Friday.

Buy a 5-Day Pass
5 days hire 8 hours a day of work bench hire. Days of your choosing valid for one-year.

How to book

1. Complete a course
Make sure you have completed a course so you are familiar with our machinery. Our courses teach you the basics of welding and get you familiar with our machinery.
If you have already completed a course you automatically qualify. You are part of The Weld Space Community.

3. We will send you booking link
Once we receive the date you want to come and have checked your name against our past attendees register. We will send you a booking link to confirm and pay for your booking in advance.

2. Fill out our booking form below
All bench bookings are booked in advance. We will make sure the welding bench is ready for you when you arrive and the machinery you need is out and prepared. You’ll only be able to use the welding process that you have experience on. So if you have completed our Introduction to Welding course. Your only be able to use the MIG / MMA Arc welding processes.

4. Arrive
Just arrive on the day of your booking and the workshop will be open for you to use. Richard will be around all day to assist with anything you need but you are free to create, practise or make whatever you want.
