This page tells you information about us and the terms and conditions of our welding and furniture making courses on our website www.theweldspace.co.uk.

These Terms will apply to any contract between us for the sale of Products and Services to you. Please read these Terms carefully and make sure that you understand them, before buying a course ticket from The Weld Space. When buying a course ticket, you are confirming that you to agree to these Terms. If you refuse to accept these Terms, you will not be able to order any Products or services from The Weld Space.

We amend these Terms from time to time. Every time you wish to buy a course ticket, please check these Terms to ensure you understand the terms which will apply at that time. These Terms were most recently updated on 24/08/2023

These Terms, and any Contract between us, are only in the English language.

1. INFORMATION ABOUT US

1.1. We operate the website www.theweldspace.co.uk which is part of RichCraft UK LTD, a Private Limited Company registered with Companies House in England and Wales. Our registered address is; Studio 1, Candlewick Lane, Alma Yard, Plymouth, PL4 0ff. RichCraft UK LTD company registration number is 12633712.

2. OUR RIGHT TO VARY THESE TERMS

2.1. We amend these Terms from time to time.

2.2. Every time you purchase a course ticket, the Terms in force at the time of your course will apply. We may revise these Terms as they apply to your order from time to time to reflect the following circumstances:

  1. (a)  changes in relevant laws and regulatory requirements; or

  2. (b)  circumstances relevant to us.

3. MARKETING AND COMMUNICATION:

3.1. Contacting The Weld Space via our online form submission system will allow us to contact you about your enquiry. The Weld Space will contact you by email or telephone detalls provided.

3.2. By submitting a form you are agreeing that The Weld Space can contact you about your inquiry and future Courses for marketing purposes.

3.3 If you would like to be removed from any marketing list please contact The Weld Space with this specific request.

4. COURSE BOOKING

4.1. We use a Third Party provider to handle the booking, payment and administration for our courses. This provider is EventBrite.

5. REFUND AND CANCELLATION:

5.1 Requests for Cancellations or refunds the following notice periods apply

  • 4 weeks prior to the course date no refund is issued.

  • 6 weeks prior to the course date 50% of the ticket value will be returned to the customer.

  • 8 weeks prior to the course date 70% of the ticket value will be returned to the customer.

5:5. If refunds or transfers are issued for a different course with a different value. The refunded amount be less the registration fee from our third party provider.

5.6 Transfers to other courses will be considered within the specific notice peroid Upgrades are also possible.

5.4. Refunds / Transfer are not possible due to any COVID related illness, symptoms or isolation

7.0. OUR RIGHT TO CANCEL or TRANSFER BOOKINGS

7.1 Subject to discretion, The Weld Space reserves the right to transfer or cancel bookings if we fail to sell enough tickets to make the course financial viable for the business. Our right to cancel or Transfer bookings starts on the 14 day’s before to the course start date. If we cancel the booking we will contact you and offer a refund or a transfer to the next suitable course date. Allowing us more time to fill the spaces.

7.2 All course requires a minimum of 2 people. We have 4 places available for each course.

7.3 The TIG welding Course has enough space for 2 people but we can run the session with 1 person.

8.0. NO SHOW POLICY

8.1. No show is classed as not turning up for your course date on the day. If you fail to turn up for the course you cannot be refunded or transfer your booking to a later date. Should you want to participate in a course you will need to purchase another ticket.

9. EVENTS OUTSIDE OF OUR CONTROL:

9.1 We will not be liable or responsible for any failure to perform, or delay in performance of, any of our obligations under a Contract that is caused by an Event Outside Our Control. An Event Outside Our Control is defined below.

9.2 An Event Outside Our Control means any act or event beyond our reasonable control, including; workshop closure, without limitation strikes, tutor injury, lock- outs or other industrial action by third parties, civil commotion, riot, invasion, terrorist attack or threat of terrorist attack, war (whether declared or not) or threat or preparation for war, fire, explosion, storm, flood, earthquake, subsidence, epidemic, pandemic, or other natural disaster, or failure of public or private telecommunications networks or impossibility of the use of railways, shipping, aircraft, motor transport or other means of public or private transport.

10. HEALTH AND SAFETY

10.1 When buying a course ticket you agree to recognise that furniture making, welding and fabrication are dangerous activities and will take full personal responsibility for any injury, illness or death associated with part-taking in such an activity.

10.2 You agree to work under the guidance of a tutor and operate machinery as instructed.

10.3 You declare the The Weld Space, RichCraft Furniture, RichCraft UK LTD is not held responsible for any damage to clothing, personal possessions, welling being and Health via injury.

10.4 You acknowledge that a risk assessment exists and is available for viewing prior or during a course.

11. Privacy Policy

11.1 We respect your privacy and will not sell on any personal data to another party.

12. Bench Hire Scheme Terms

12.1 The Weld Space Offers past course attendees the chance hire a Metal Working Bench for a half day, day or week. This scheme is only open to people who have completed a course at The Weld Space.

12.2 Bench Hire is booked and paid for in advance and booking is handled via Eventbrite.

12.3 When hiring a bench from The Weld Space you agree to abide by the ‘ground rules’ of The Weld Space. The Ground Rules are as follows;

  • You agree to treat the machinery as your own and take care of it.

  • Keep dust, smoke and noise to a minimum by closing the workshop door when possible.

  • Report any damage to the workshop technician as soon as it happens

  • Keep the space tidy throughout the day and sweep up any mess you make before you leave.

  • Not to damage the space and it’s contents

  • Dispose of any unwanted scrap metal in the appropriate bins.

  • You will wear the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for each activity.

  • Will follow instructions by the technician when required.

  • Follow guidance on machine use set out during your course.

  • Respect that the workshop is used personally by RichCraft UK LTD for project work.

  • Building Security is the responsibility of the everyone using the space. Please make sure doors are shut and locked where appropriate.

12.4 Any damage to the Space, Machinery or tools caused by undue care and attention will need to be paid for my the person hiring the bench.

12.5 The personal Heath and Safety of the person hiring the bench is entirely the responsibility of the person who has hired the bench and using it for the hire period. The hirer takes full responsibility for your own Health and Safety. By agreeing to the Terms and Conditions you exclude RichCraft UK LTD, The Weld Space.co.uk or Richard Evans from any injury claims resulting from using workshop machinery or being in the workshop/studio space.

12.6 It is the responsibility of the hirer to check the machinery for damage or wear and tear before operation. Any damage can be reported to the technician and will be repaired.

12.7 The Weld Space strongly advises users of The Weld Space Bench Hire Scheme have there own Personal Injury and / or Public liability insurance. When hiring a bench you are not under any circumstance covered by the insurance held by The Weld Space or RICHCRAFT UK LTD. You take full responsibility for your actions.

12.8 Delivery of Material - if you order material for a project you must be here to accept your material delivery. RichCraft UK LTD can’t be held responsible for anything damanged or lost if you are not here to accept.

12.9 Project Storage. You can store your project outside in the court yard at The Weld Space for a maximum of a week before it will need to be removed. Unless it’s overnight following two days of hire No project can be kept inside The Weld Space workshop.

13. Material and Consumables remaining at The Weld Space after the hire period ends will be disposed off or consumed by The Weld Space.

13.1 Any tools left in the Weld Space are left at the your own Risk and The Weld Space and RichCraft UK LTD cannot be held responsible for them.

13.2 Reasonable amounts of Welding Gas for the MIG Welders and Electrodes for MMA Welding processes are provided as part of the hire scheme. Excessive use of the welders or electrodes will need to be charged to the user.

13.3 Argon Gas for the TIG Welder is expensive to purchase and an additional surcharge is added to recognise this expense. You are welcome to provide your own welding gas if you wish.

14. Photography, Videos and Social Media

14.1 The Weld Space operates an Opt In policy for Photographs, video and social media content. We will from time to time take photos and videos to promote The Weld Space to the Media and to put on our website. Should you not wish to be featured please make it known to the tutor on the day.
