The course is scheduled to start 10:00, the workshop shutters will be open from 0945. However, if you do find you arrived a little earlier than planned. Heyl Bakery is open from 0900 and have tea, coffee and pastries are available to buy. To find them just walk up the path a little further into the Alma Yard Site

Parking:

There is no parking on site at Alma Yard. However you can park at the Harbour Car Park across from Lockers Quay (Premier Inn car). You can park on the street for free a little further away from The Weld Space on St Judes Road and Walk to Alma Yard (5minute walk). The main Gate will be open and you will find The Weld Space located in the GateHouse development.

On Sunday parking on the street near Alma Yard is possible. Please check signage.

Other Transport:

• TRAIN: Turn Right outside Plymouth Railway Station and Head for the bus stop on Penny-come-quick Hill. Jump on the Number 51 bus and get off at Friary Park. The Weld Space is about 5minute walk from here. Behind Totem Timber.

• BICYCLE: We have Bicycle parking available at Alma Yard and would encourage you to cycle whenever possible.

What to wear:

We will provide all the relevant PPE needed. However we would advise wearing some old shoes and/or jeans. Please no flip flops. Metalwork and welding can create a bit of dust so please bring something you don't mind getting dusty / dirty.

If you are a glasses wearer we have found from past experience that it is useful to bring another pair of glasses that aren’t varifocals. As it helps with vision when welding.

Lunch options:

• Monday-Friday: there are plenty of options for lunch on-site or a few minutes walk from The Weld Space.

• Saturday: On-site Heyl Bakery is open which is a vegan bakery. 5mins walk the Pitstop Cafe is available.

• Sunday: There are not many options locally. A premier Shop is around the corner alternatively Costa Coffee.

Tea and Coffee are provided.

We have a microwave, kettle and fridge you are welcome to bring your own lunch and use our facilities.

Accommodation Options:

If you require overnight accommodation below are a couple of options:

• The Craft House Plymouth, beautiful boutique hotel themed around craft. Book Directly with them and mention The Weld Space. You will receive 5% Discount. 20min Walk from the Weld Space.

• Lockyers Quay - Premier Inn. Across the road from The Weld Space.
