We’re a welding education and Createch business, combining real-world teaching experience with new technology to help more people develop welding skills. You can learn hands-on through our workshops or from home through The Weld Space Academy, where AI and computer vision are helping us create new ways to learn.
Our programmes provide high-quality, beginner-friendly instruction focused on giving you the information and confidence you need to start welding. We ultimately help beginners, DIYers and hobbyists develop the knowledge and confidence to build, repair and create their own projects.

We handle our bookings via our website using a system called Stripe. When you find the date and course you want to join. “Click” Click here to book” and check out.

Sometimes their is some flexibility and want to make sure you can attend your course. We will always do our best to accommodate any unforeseen changes.

Unfortunately, Alma Yard doesn’t have on site parking at the moment and the parking restrictions don’t allow you to park outside. There is pay and display parking at the Lockyers Quay or Barbican Harbour Car Park.

No, we are solely based in Plymouth.
If you would like to learn with us you can join The Weld Space Academy for £9.99 per month and get your own Welding Coach at home when ever you need it. It’s never been easier to learn welding from home.

I want to practise more?
For past course attendees we can make a welding bench available for you. You can hire a bench for half a day or a full day and make use of some of the machinery we have. Richard will be around to help through-out the day. Book a Bench Here.

Yes. Learning to weld takes practice, but you can absolutely develop your skills at home.
Our beginner-focused approach concentrates on the areas new welders typically struggle with. Follow the course syllabus, practise the techniques and start building our beginner projects to gradually develop solid welding and fabrication skills
