Welding Class: The Plant Stand

This one-day course will introduce you to the fundamentals of metalwork and welding using MMA and MIG welding processes. These Welding methods are some of the most common and accessible forms of welding metal. The day includes welding tuition and practice, material preparation, cutting and metal finishing techniques. All fundamental skills for making 3D products and objects from metal.

Over the day; you will receive 1-2-1 tuition in MMA and MIG welding, learn about preparing material for welding using an angle grinder and about the safe use of workshop machinery for cutting.

You will then learn the specific skills required to make 3D Objects from metal. Looking at at use of techical drawings in welding. You will apply these skills to construct a small Plant Stand and weld it together using a welding method of your choice.

This course is perfect for beginners or anyone keen learn about basic of MMA & MIG welding, Fabrication or DIY learners looking to weld their own furniture. The skills are completely transferable to most metalwork projects.

The day will be led by Richard Evans, an experienced metal fabricator and designer. All materials required for this course are included in the price.
