Learner welds are photographed and catalogued, helping us build a growing library of real welding examples and common mistakes.
This data is used to train our own AI model. Using computer vision — a form of artificial intelligence — it learns what to look for in the pixels of an image. It can then compare what it sees with known examples in its training data and recognise the characteristics and faults experienced welders look for.
We teach people to weld and see the real questions and common faults beginners experience.
Welds have visible characteristics — shape, consistency, bead size and common defects - Experienced welders learn to recognise these through years of training.
The questions, information and welding knowledge we've built as a welding education business are used to inform our AI model.
