The Weld Space becomes a Career Transition Partnership Preferred Supplier
We are delighted to announce that The Weld Space has been selected and awarded Preferred Supplier to the Career Transition Partnership (CTP).
This is an exciting recognition for The Weld Space and reflects our commitment to delivering accessible, high-quality and practical welding education and knowledge for everyone.
What is the Career Transition Partnership?
The Career Transition Partnership (CTP) is the official provider of Armed Forces resettlement services in the United Kingdom. It supports Service Leavers as they transition into civilian employment by providing career guidance, vocational training opportunities and access to approved training providers.
The CTP helps individuals explore different industries, develop new skills and make informed decisions about their future careers after military service.
Supporting Service Leavers Through Their Next Chapter
Over the past few years, The Weld Space has welcomed an increasing number of Service Leavers through our workshop doors. Many have completed long and successful careers in the Military and are beginning the exciting challenge of transitioning into civilian life.
Leaving the Armed Forces is a significant milestone. While some people already know the career they would like to pursue, others use their resettlement period to explore new industries, develop practical skills and discover opportunities they may never have previously considered.
One of the great benefits of the resettlement programme is that it gives Service Leavers the opportunity to experience new industries through short training courses before committing to a new career path and potentially more formal training. For many people, this provides valuable insight into whether a particular trade or profession is the right fit.
Welding is one of those skills.
Across the UK there continues to be strong demand for skilled welders and fabricators within manufacturing, engineering, construction, marine, agriculture and automotive industries. Welding also provides an excellent foundation for self-employment, hobby projects and further technical training.
What Does This Mean?
Being recognised as a Preferred Supplier to the Career Transition Partnership means that The Weld Space has successfully completed CTP's approval process and is now listed on the CTP Preferred Supplier List.
The approval process considers a range of areas including business quality, training standards, financial stability, health and safety, customer service and company policies. It provides Service Leavers with confidence that they are choosing a training provider that has met CTP's approval requirements.
Training at The Weld Space?
Our workshops are designed to give complete beginners and those with some previous experience the opportunity to develop practical welding skills in a relaxed and supportive environment.
Training is delivered in small groups and covers the fundamentals of MIG, TIG and MMA welding through hands-on practical workshops. Our aim is not simply to teach people how to weld, but to build confidence and provide a genuine understanding of the different welding processes.
Not everyone who attends our courses chooses a career in welding—and that's perfectly fine.
For many, the experience provides clarity. It gives them the opportunity to try a new skill, build confidence and make informed decisions about what to do next. Others will go on to continue their training, undertake fabrication projects of their own or pursue employment within engineering and manufacturing and area of employment requiring more people to join the worksforce.
We are incredibly proud to have been recognised as a Preferred Supplier to the Career Transition Partnership. This recognition reflects our commitment to delivering high-quality practical training and allows even more Service Leavers to discover The Weld Space as they explore their next chapter beyond military service.
Whether you're considering welding as a future career, looking to develop practical skills, or simply exploring the opportunities available during your resettlement journey, we look forward to welcoming you to The Weld Space.
