This will provide you with access to all the typical tools, equipment, and person protective kit required for metalworking and welding, including metal cutting saws, grinders, drills, and of course, welding machines.
You can hire and use our MIG Welders, TIG Welder or MMA Welding Machines.
By hiring the equipment and space on a pay-as-you-go basis, you can enjoy the flexibility of working on your own project at your own pace without having to invest in expensive machinery upfront. It's a cost-effective way to try your hand at metalworking and welding, and it's perfect for those who don't have the space or budget for a home workshop.
In addition to the equipment available, our Pay As You Go scheme offers support from experienced technicians who can provide guidance and advice on your project, as well as offer tips on how to use the machinery safely and effectively.
How to Book a bench:
When you book and complete a course with The Weld Space you qualify for our bench booking scheme automatically. You are part of The Weld Space Community.
If you haven’t booked a course yet, the first thing is to browse our courses and find the one that suits your needs and interests. If you are interested in making welding repairs and fixing things The Introduction to Welding Course is perfect for this. If you want to make 3D objects which are rectangular or square or need to be straight our Fundamentals to Metalwork Course will teach you these skills. If you are looking at making metal furniture then the right courses for you are either our Stool Making Course or Chair Making course on the Welding Weekend.
Through the course you will be introduced to the machinery and inducted on how to use it safely making workshop bench hire simply a job of turning up and turning on the machines.
To book your bench; simply complete our online booking form to request the day and length of your hire. We will then get back to you with a booking link or next suitable availability. You can also use our booking form to order additional items such as grinding discs, private welding tuition or material ready for your hire.
Hire rates are available from Half a day, Full Day then a 5 day Pass. Our 5 Day Pass allows you to use the workshop for a full day over 5 days of your choosing. That can be in a week or over a month or two. This allows you to plan your project work or work slowly towards completing your project one day a week.
Our Hire scheme allows you to enjoy the benefits of a fully equipped workshop without the hassle of having to purchase and maintain your own equipment. Plus, with the support of the workshop staff, you'll have plenty of resources and inspiration to help you tackle your project with confidence.

On the day.
When you arrive at the workshop, the technician will provide you with all the necessary equipment and tools available, as well as any safety instructions you need to know. You'll then able to use the workshop, machinery and equipment as you like. We want you to feel at home, so help yourself to tea and coffee.
If you haven’t been shown or it’s been a while since you used the machinery our technician will happily show you how to operate them safely again. Just ask and enjoy learning about welding and metalwork in the process. Thats all part of the fun.
